AWESOME AMAZING WONDERFUL THINGS!

Lovely display from the Boulder Bookstore.

Hi! I'm briefly home in Portland before the final leg of my tour (California! Come see me :-), and it is so nice to be here, even in the midst of the still-not-unpacked house mess. Such an unreal few weeks this has been, kind of feels like someone took scissors and snipped around it and it is just outside of and apart from real life entirely. Being on book tour. Weird. I am working on a longer post, but for now I just want to post the AWESOME that is happening!

AWESOME AMAZING WONDERFUL THINGS!

  • I mentioned I was interviewed live on the Woman's Hour on BBC 4 Radio while in London. That was scary and fabulous. Here's THE LINK if you want to listen; it's not long. And so I didn't get to feeling it was too serious or anything, the next segment is on making fish pie, ha ha :-) (Another BBC spot upcoming later this month; more on that later!
  • HOLY SMOKES! ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY! As if the Must List wasn't enough, a review! An A-!! Thank you so much, Entertainment Weekly, I love you!

  • And, um, still processing this one. THE NEW YORK TIMES BOOK REVIEW. They liked it!

Now, off to pizza and kid's music with mah bebbies. Cheers!

Yay! I saw the NYT one and was so pleased. I (along with the We Heart YA girls) have been singing your praises ever since we read Lips Touch earlier this year, but DoSAB really blew me away. Can't wait -- no really, I'm dying -- for book 2!

Hello, I've been a reader/lurker of your blog for a long (long) time from down here in New Zealand and I just had to comment to let you know I just saw your book advertised here on TV just now. I thought I would flick a comment to let you know that its making its way down to this part of the world too - how exciting, I was going to order it online but it is obviously in the NZ shops so I will be making a shopping trip.

Love the love for good reads. Was graciously gifted with a Daughter that made a 5,000 mile trip to see me and IT WAS SO WORTH all the nail biting and frantic page flipping! Review on my blog...Can't wait for the sequel!

Yay, yay, yay! So much good stuff. :) Your book is an unearthly delight--does it get any better than that?

I hope the pizza was yummy, too!

P.S. Sirens went way too fast!

Most excellent reviews, Laini! And so well-deserved. Am reading Smoke and Bone again tonight. Great presentation at Powell's tonight, with (and without) the mic. Thanks for all of your writerly words of wisdom. You are very generous sharing glimpses and glimmers of your writing journey. I don't know if I'll ever be able to tell you how much I love your work.
