I wish wish wish wish WISH I could come to the event in Christchurch! Sadly I booked a flight home that weekend :(( Hope you enjoy New Zealand!
Have a wonderful trip, Laini! I have never been to that part of the world, but it is quite high on my list :)
Gah! Why does the universe loathe me so? Why!? You are finally visiting my home country and I will be in America! What cruel twist of fate is this? :’(
Oooh, I want to go to all of these classes, especially the master class! And I really, really want to go to Australia and New Zealand. Have fun!
Your Paris is more beautiful than any Paris I've seen, maybe except for Amelie. And you found Figenskar!
I am so envious (and also excited for you)! I visited both Australia and New Zealand and would loooove to go back. You are going to have an amazing trip!
I'm not sure if you're bringing the family along or if this fits into your NZ travel plans, but if you have a chance, I highly recommend detouring to Waitomo and checking out the glowworm caves there. They are truly breathtaking, and if you're feeling up for it and have the time, you should definitely try the full 5-hour tour offered by the Black Water Rafting Co. It's got a little bit of physical exertion and you do get wet (so bringing towels from your hotel are recommended), but it's not strenuous and it's by far the most fun and most memorable thing I did in New Zealand.
Unfortunately, Clementine is probably too small to do the Black Water tour, but there are other (dry) tours and like I said, the glowworms are simply breathtaking and well worth the trip.
In Australia, the farmers' markets and restaurants in Melbourne are out of this world. It's a major foodie city!
And if you have the chance, Fishface in Darlinghurst in Sydney had some of the most transcendent sushi I've ever had, hands down. On par with Nobu and all those other fancy Stateside sushi restaurants.
This is all very random information, but these are the most memorable things I experienced in 6 weeks in NZ and AUS and I just wanted to pass along the intel in case it's useful! I hope you have a wonderful time!!!!
DANGIT. DANGIT. I missed it. :( :( :( Please come back to Auckland again. :( :( :(
Yay, just bought my ticket for the Christchurch event, am so excited!

A friend from my writing group and I are booked in to your masterclass and cannot wait :)
I hope you and your family enjoy your stay in our beautiful city.
