Greetings, Daughter of Smoke & Bone! Foreign editions!

Hey, guess what! Awesome thing: Daughter of Smoke and Bone is a finalist for the CCBA Teen Book of the Year! That's the Children's Choice Book Awards, and it's one of five finalists in the teen category, with voting for the winner open right HERE right NOW. Please vote! (I couldn't find any age parameters for voting listed on the site, and they let ME vote, so ...?)

Thank you!

And another awesome thing: foreign editions!

I love foreign editions. I love knowing my book is out in the world, and I love seeing the different designs and sensibilities. And over the last month or two, these wonderful parcels have begun to arrive at my door. Yay, parcels!

So, for fun, the beginning of the collection. Wheeeeeeee!

USA

UK

FRENCH

GERMAN

Loving this sticker they put on.
It says: "the best series in the world"!

KOREAN

CHINESE

SLOVAK

And there are some editions keeping the US cover art ...

NORWEGIAN

SPANISH

Well, that's what I have so far. It's so exciting getting these in the mail!

I wonder which will come next ...

So fun. More to come.

My US and UK publishers are currently in the process of designing the cover for Days of Blood & Starlight, as well as paperback covers for Daughter, so there's that excitement too. Yay!

Thank you!

:-)

GAH! I've been TRYING to find a UK copy of Smoke and Bone for my collection but they're either super expensive or out of stock. I shall perservere!

Yay for the Norwegian version, even if they didn't make a new cover. I get it though, the US one IS very beautiful. I loved the Chinese one, and of course the slovak hunk.

Don't you wonder who these girls are that are modeling for Karou all over the globe? Did they read it? Do they relate to her? So cool!

The German edition is beautiful! I was lucky to find a limited signed first edition of the book in my local waterstones (UK), it is amazing!!

Amazing collection, Laini! AWESOME.

The UK one is my favorite -- I bought a UK copy just so I could pet it.

But the German/Swedish one might be the most reflective of the interior.

I love foreign covers! I particularly love the German cover, but find it very interesting that your name actually changes in Slavic... Taylorova? Huh.

Congrats on the CCBA nomination, Laini! DAUGHTER obviously gets my vote. :)

I cannot believe how gorgeous all these foreign editions are! You are going to have the best. display shelf. ever. My favorite is still the final US cover, but the German and Korean versions are running a close second...

All of them are beautiful and you're so lucky to have all these amazing covers. The German and Korean covers are my favorites, though.

How exciting!! That German one is stunning. I would totally buy it just to be able to look at the cover.

Way to go on the nomination! I'm totally headed over there RIGHT NOW to vote.

Congrats on the CCBA nomination, Laini! And you can count on my vote, of course!

All these amazing covers! I love the UK, German and Chinese covers, though the US design is still my favorite. How delightful it must be to see them arrive at your door...

I voted for one of the most thrilling books I've read in a while. "Daughter", of course. I totally lied about my age, though, for fear they would throw out my 63 year old self. I am nearing the end of "Lips Touch". Each story awesome. The illustrations are very cool. I go back and look at them as I make my way through the book. You rock!
