I'm going on retreat tomorrow! Not to the above island, which is waaay too distraction-filled. It'll just be me in a hotel room with nothing to do but write write write. (Well, I might possibly wander into the Plot Labyrinth, but not if I can help it!) Always such excitement and trepidation pre-retreat: big hopes of big productivity, and big fears of face-planting.
Stupid fear.
But excitement too! I'll be back soon!
(more of my thoughts on writing retreats here.)

Good luck! I hope you get lots done :D I've just gone back to work after a long weekend of writing shut away in my house. I managed to get far amount done but going to a hotel sounds even better! no chores as a distraction!
Aww, love the comic; I have a Writer's Block Dungeon Tony Dowler drew for me that looks a lot like this.
Good luck!
Good Luck! I'm sure you will come back with amazing texts. I've just came back from a reading retreat in which I stopped writing for two months so I could relax my mind with some marvelous stories. (I actually read Night of Cake and Puppets last weeks. I loved it).
I'll be waiting for new updates.

Happy retreat, Laini! I need one of those, too :-) Write, write and write and conquer!!
Hey if you're ever in Chicago between now and Jan 10th, I have a play recommendation for you! It's called Burning Bluebeard and is the most imaginative magical play I've ever seen. I loved it and wanted everyone to see it, and since you're one of my favorite magic-fantasy authors...

(Of course, if you're ever in Chicago please have a book signing event!)
