Exclusive Edition of DREAMS OF GODS & MONSTERS!

Okay, finally. I've been meaning to tell you about the signed special edition of DREAMS OF GODS & MONSTERS that will be available in the US (for UK, see here.

I've spent most of my time since returning from Mexico signing the above limited edition prints (art by me), and I'm done! Whew. And my hand has survived. Yay! These prints will be included in Barnes & Noble's first print run of DREAMS OF GODS & MONSTERS, both in stores and on-line.

(This edition will also be available from Indigo in Canada.)

Also, the paperback of DAYS OF BLOOD & STARLIGHT came out today!

If you haven't read it yet, I hope you will check it out! The re-read is going at Goodreads, and there will be another online chat and Q&A upcoming (actually, a couple more!) and I hope you'll join in! The last one was really fun. Thanks for all the great questions!

I'm in a life-catch-up mode right now, after neglecting all things including myself for months while finishing DREAMS. It's a time for dentists appointments and spring cleaning and all those joyous tasks that are just so easy to put off. Also we have a tree slowly tipping over, and the basement is flooding. Joys of living in Portland. What are YOU doing today? :-)

More foreign editions of DAYS OF BLOOD & STARLIGHT!

You guys know how getting boxes of foreign editions is one of my favorite things, right?

Isn't that GORGEOUS? That's the Estonian DAYS OF BLOOD & STARLIGHT. I love it!

And here's the Japanese DAUGHTER OF SMOKE & BONE, isn't it great?!?!

Here you can see how cute and wee it is between the regular-size books!

And also, reprising the US cover, the Finnish edition:

... and Norwegian edition:

Wheeeee! Yayyyyyyyy!!!!

Hey, wanna read the first two chapters of

(This always makes me soooo nervous. I'll just be over here covering my eyes so you can't see me...)

Hello! This long blog silence has been due to vacation! Jim and Clementine and I went to Mexico. More details and specifics later. For now, here's some general Mexico ambience and color. It's magic. A magical country. I mean, just look. Every minute of the day there, I was questioning why there isn't more flair and pizzazz here. What's up, America?

The whole time I was finishing Dreams of Gods & Monsters, I was fantasizing about being done and going to Mexico. Jim and I had been once before, to Chiapas, pre-Clementine. Loved it, mango-smorgasbord that it is. The above region was less mango-prolific, alas, but remarkable in other ways. And the best part about the whole trip was that we were in the company of some of my favorite writers! Holly Black, Cassandra Clare, Sarah Rees Brennan, and Kelly Link, as well as Kelly's daughter Ursula (Clementine's age) and husband Gavin Grant (publisher of Small Beer Press and Lady Churchill's Rosebud Wristlet), and Cassie's husband Joshua Lewis, also a writer, and everyone was so terrifically fun and smart and nice.

I want to be back there, in the sun and splendor! If I had to guess, I would say that the Portland wind is angry at us for going away, and is bent on vindictive destruction. The house is shuddering. Maybe even cowering. Hopefully the roof will hang on!

More later. I've returned home inspired to work on a new project. It just *might* be set in Mexico. Hasta luego!
