Hey Chicago-Area Folk!

Hey guys! I'm going on a pre-publication tour next week for Daughter, and though most of the events aren't public, this just popped up on my google alerts. I've heard such amazing things about Anderson's bookstore, and can't wait to see it. Looks like you're invited too (if you're a teacher or a teen, I think) ...

Check with the store for details. I guess?

Pre-Pub Event with Laini Taylor

Attention Educators, Teen Bloggers and Students 14+: This event is for you...

Sign up in the Naperville store when you pick up an ARC, then read the book, Daughter of Smoke and Bone, and be one of the first readers to meet the author in a fun event before the book is published. Even dinner is served! This is an upper YA book, so incoming freshman and high school only.

Location:

Anderson's Bookfair Company
520 Exchange Court,
Aurora, Illinois

Agh, no fair. I'm Chicago-Area folk -- but, alas, I'm not a student anymore so no ARC or pre-pub event for me. Ah, well.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy Anderson's, Laini, and the other scheduled places for the pre-pub events. :)

Hi Jillian! Well, I will be back to Chicago in September for the actual book tour! So excited! Hope to see you then. Details to come :-)

My first reaction to reading this post was HOORAY! But then I kept reading and that quickly changed to CURSES, FOILED AGAIN! I would give my eyeteeth to go to this event... alas that I am not an Educator, Teen Blogger, or Student 14+.

To anyone who's eligible and on the fence: GO. Anderson's is an amazing [indie!] bookstore and their events are consistently well-organized and a ton of fun. (My personal favorite so far was their event for THE GRAVEYARD BOOK: it was held at the Tivoli Theatre, and included a signed book, Neil Gaiman reading/Q&A, and a showing of "Stardust"!) Seriously people, GO.

And good luck at the event, Laini! You'll be in good hands.

Wow that looks fantastic! And I'm so glad you'll be back again in Sept, maybe I can actually go to that one!
