Spoon joust!

Well, looky here, I'm finally back on schedule and it's January 11th. 1/11/11, woowee. I had meant to be back on schedule by 1/1/11, but what's ten days of toddler jet lag? We are finally back to normal around here! Which means, I am back to my cafe writing schedule. Which also means I most certainly should not be putting up a blog post right now, which is why this is a real quickie. It takes time to sort trip photos, so my next real Marrakesh post is forthcoming, held in reserve for nighttime, unprime-writing-time. In the meantime, though, spoon-joust! These from our first day in Marrakesh.

If you are wondering about Clementine's hijab, we bought it in the souk as an adorable way to keep the sun off her very fair scalp, since we didn't think to bring a sun hat, traveling in "winter." (It was WARM in Marrakesh!) Moroccan women loved seeing her in it, though, and she got many many smiles :-)

En garde!

Meanwhile, a dear friend of mine, who shall henceforth be known as "Hoobubby" for reasons of witness relocation and government secrecy (not really), has returned to blogging after a long absence, hurray!, and you can visit her HERE! Her new post is an homage to my own dear mother's dear bird room. Enjoy, and I'll be back soon with lots more Marrakesh pictures!

Love these photos Fatty! by the way, guess what happened? when I turned over one of my white bed pillows guess what I found? a tiny, tiny pizza fingerprint that matches a little teeny tiny someone exactly like someone in one of these photos. I'm sending the police over to fingerprint you both to see who will be responsible for cleaning this pillow. Please have Pie or her assistant contact me.
Thanks for the linkage Fatty!! ( :

Clementine's hijab is adorable, and so is this joust! I think jousts would be much more entertaining if one jouster made the other eat the weapons.

I know I'm not supposed to say this...but these pictures are so striking in many respects, not the least of which is how much you look like your mother! I see her sitting at the kitchen table on Yawl point in these photos!

hoobubby did a great job. she's boosted tourism in the area as a result. she should get a commission on bird room reservations. ;) it IS pretty spectacular.
